Description

 Monte Mayor golf course
These greens, nestled in a natural amphitheatre created by the Serrania de Ronda mountains, have not been shaped by bulldozers, but by the wild Andalusian nature. Accentuated by dramatic ravines, gullies and streams, Monte Mayor offers a superb challenge to even the most experienced golfers. Either you love it or you hate it, we at Golf Service love it.

Monte Mayor Reviews

Rating: 3.4 of 5
2011-11-17 - "difficult course with some very tight shots, not helped with severe undulations. Loved the peace, though A very tough par 3" - golfer
Rating: 3.7 of 5
2011-11-16 - "Quite difficult but great fun. If you are not bothered about scoring well but want a challenge then this is the course to play. Played in a four ball 7 to 23 handicap and we all enjoyed the day." - longridge lads
Rating: 2.9 of 5
2011-11-08 - "A tough course that you need to play more than once. Many blind shots and narrow, sloped fairways make MMG a good challenge! However, a Mayor deception is/was the hospitality: early closure of the clubhouse with still flights on the course." - Jadf

2011-10-15 - "We have played Monte Mayor for many years and the setting and course layout are fantastic - although almost impossible not to lose balls. However we have noticed a marked deterioration in the course maintenance over the last few years and the buggy paths are very slippery. We feel that there needs to be some significant investment in the course to enable it to live up to its potential and former glory. The fact that the bar was closed and there was nobody about by the time we came in was not good - we were not even the last group out. We really hope it improves as it was one of our all time favourites." - Welsh Golfer

2011-10-13 - "Played this course second time in a row, it will be the last time for a while. Lost too much balls playing from white. Playes a bit like a roller coster. There are some spectacular holes though. You should have playred it ones and then lick your wounds!" - Go-olfer

2011-10-13 - "The course was in good condition. It is a difficult course but a delightful experience. The scenery is dramatic and the course is not crowded. I enjoyed it but it is hard to score well ther." - paul Twigden

2011-09-26 - "Great course and layout, but the buggies slid all over the paths - big problem. Also, the greenkeepers could show a bit more respect to players " - gordon davidson

2011-06-24 - "This particular course is unique, being cut out of the mountain and makes for an unusual but extremely exciting game. Forget competing against your friends, you are competing against yourself in an effort to beat the course" - Guy Vickers

2011-06-22 - "Hard to believe a course has been built in this canyon. Stunning holes par 3 third probably most spectacular.Buggy paths need attention a bit slippy in places. Will always return"

2011-05-19 - "A tough challenging golf course, where good shots are rewarded and poor shots punished. A thrill to play, just bring plenty of balls....!"
Rating: 4.1 of 5
2011-05-17 - "The marmite of golf, love it or hate it! If your scorecard is more important than the golf course then stay away! If you like to play demanding golf in a place that is stunningly beautiful then go!"
