Description

El Chaparral golf course
This course was closed for many years and reopened in 2006. This is one of the few courses surrounded by large pine trees. Chaparral has 6 par three, 6 par four and 6 par five. The club house surrounded by pine trees is located in one of the most beautiful settings on the coast. The word spectacular is the best way to describe playing at El Chaparral.

2011-12-16 - "spectaculair course. not 1 hole is similar to another. Difficult 4 holes to start, then it gets (a bit) easier."

2011-12-09 - "Tees were in bad condition. You had to stick to the concrete path with the buggys. This meany you were carrying around four or five clubs across the fairway, if you was on the opposite side. This slowed the game down."

2011-11-07 - "Attractive golf course (except hole 1). Some holes are really challenging. Hole 11 seems to be unfair but you need to playit at least twice to know the right spots to place your ball. The 8th and the 10th are tricky par 4 and par 3. The pine woods are surrounding many holes and give the golf course acosy character." - Archie

2011-11-04 - "Booked a second game on chaparral as enjoyed it tremendously even though there had been a thunderstorm the previous night and the course was still quite wet, so enjoyed the 2nd game tree days later in brill weather and the course conditions were excellent.would recommend the course to anyone."

2011-10-13 - "Course was in an awful condition. Greens were very poor and spike mark and footprint traffic made them worse. Fairways and tees poor. They seem to have stopped investing/maintaining the course and information from staff indicated that green keeper had left. Course design good albeit short in length." - OctGolfer

2011-10-06 - "the course is good and also the layout. The 17th hole I remember as the most difficult, but is a challenge. Something else is the problem with the buggy it was not the first time we have to wait for them." - simone

2011-10-05 - "Had lunch before teeing off which was nice but was the only highlight of the day! Tees were scruffy, fairways had many wet patches and a lot of GUR. Greens were slow and looked as if the groups ahead had played in football boots. No showers available when we finished as shop was closed and clubhouse staff wanted to go home. We had booked a twilight deal but they should not sell the greenfee if they are not prepared to provide the service. We have played it a number of times over the last six years but will not be back again." - Paschal Hayes

2011-10-02 - "I played Chaparral as part of a group of 8 players, having played last year we had a great experience however this year we played on the twilight time and our booking was timed to finish in plenty of time to finish the round, however when we got there we were told that the tee time was running half an hour late. In addition to this there were so many people playing the course that they ran out of buggies. The staff were really apologetic and we got a free round for next year but the course really need to cut down on the amount of people they allow on the course, the greens also looked like some people were wearing football boots there were that many holes and tear marks they were terrible. People that leave pitch marks un repaired should be thrown of the course. so in short staff were great, course was terrible with far too many people on it with too few buggies" - mgb
